Recently married, I now go by the name Carly Schultheis (formerly Patton). I am a Florida girl at heart, where I grew up in a small town near Tampa called Zephyrhills. At 18, I made the decision to dedicate 8 years of my life to the US Army and attended the United States Military Academy. Upon graduation, I had a beautiful beach wedding where I married my childhood-sweetheart husband. We met when we were only 11 years old in Costa Rica at the 2005 Junior Pan Am Championships in Judo. He attended Colorado School of Mines where he competed in Judo for the United States Olympic Training Center, while I became the captain of the West Point Judo team. He has encouraged me to always pursue my dreams and he shares my enthusiasm for exploring the world. Currently, I am commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Chemical Corps of the United States Army. My goals are to make the best out of all opportunities and experiences that I encounter and to strive to be a very happy traveler.
