“We grow most when experiencing the highs and lows of life. It’s when life is comfortable that change is most difficult.” – Jeff DeGraff
This past year, I have seen a record number of highs and lows. I celebrated my first amazing year of marriage, I lost 30 pounds and got in the best shape of my life, I developed positive habits like journaling, blogging, and bettering myself. Then there were the not so great times: spending months doing rigorous Army training, living hundreds of miles away from my husband, and topping the year off with a nine month deployment to the Middle East. While this year has been the biggest roller coaster of life that I’ve ever ridden, I have grown and developed more than ever before. While this year may have presented me with trials, it has also been the best year of my life. This year, I have learned what I am truly capable of. I have become someone that others can rely on for almost anything. I have built upon a relationship and marriage that was already rock solid, but is now not rock, but a diamond. I have learned how to be a better leader. This past year has been very uncomfortable. However, I am thankful everyday for this discomfort, because without it, I would not be the woman I am today.
